Amy Galvin Grogan has extensive experience in a wide range of practice areas focusing on construction litigation, corporate litigation, employment law, and estate planning. She has represented a diverse group of clients, including construction companies, banks, brokers, businesses, and individuals.


Her in-depth litigation experience includes cases relating to mechanics liens, real estate and property, employment issues, restrictive covenants, operating agreements, shareholder and partnership agreements, and breach of contract. Also, Ms. Grogan has represented construction companies in the filing and foreclosure of mechanics liens and property owners in defending the same.


Ms. Grogan counsels companies on their employment law issues, business formation, buy-sell agreements, and partnership disputes. She has defended both employers and employees on breach of employment contracts and has drafted and reviewed employment agreements, non-compete contracts, and non-solicitation agreements. Ms. Grogan has helped executives depart from positions without violating company policies or employment contracts and also has negotiated employment packages for executives.


Ms. Grogan’s trust and estate planning experience focuses on the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorneys, probating estates, and drafting closely-held business succession agreements. Ms. Grogan has counseled clients who are struggling with estate issues regarding elderly parents, disable children, minor children, and family businesses.


She has successfully won numerous trials dealing with a wide range of legal issues both in Cook, Kane, McHenry, Dupage and Will County Circuit Courts. She has drafted and argued numerous cases before the Illinois Appellate Court and also has appeared in the Northern District of Illinois on a wide variety of cases including employment law matters and adversarial bankruptcy matters.


Ms. Grogan is married to Kevin Grogan and has three children. She grew up in Munster, Indiana and currently resides in Elmhurst, Illinois. She is a local artist whose specialty is drawing and painting. Ms. Grogan is an avid reader who is never without her Kindle.

  • Orange Crush et al v. Raging Waves et al., Kendall County. Successful judgment in construction litigation resulting in settlement.
  • The People ex. Rel. The Board of Trustees of Chicago State University v. Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., 387 Ill.App.3d 606, 900 N.E.2d 414 (1st Dist. 2008). Successful appeal resulting in settlement for client who entered into a loan agreement that was breached.
  • Jap, Inc. et al v. Today’s Sushi et al, Cook County Chancery Division. Litigation between partners regarding their rights under a partnership agreement.
  • Taxpayer Advocate Group v. Tax Recovery Corp. Successful Judgment against defendant.
